John Bubenik
Formerly involved in the arts as a creator of stoneware, It was in 1978 that he began painting . In 1984, Mr. Bubenik commenced as a Sole Proprietor. In the late 1980s, he began working on projects that needed some degree of decorative refinishing, and he continued to increase that activity over the next several years: using paint to duplicate the look of wood grain or marble, installing unique textured wallcoverings from Europe, and solving a variety of design problems with paint. In 2006, Mr. Bubenik was engaged on client projects that led to the decision to transition to decorative work as the primary focus of his enterprise, resulting in the establishment of John Bubenik, Color Craftsman LLC.
Mr. Bubenik joined the Metro Artisans Guild, “MAG,” the local St. Louis, Missouri chapter of the International Decorative Artist League (IDAL). MAG is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion & preservation of the art of stenciling and decorative painting.
In 2007, Mr. Bubenik took the opportunity to train in Italy in the field of decorative plasters at the Safra Colors Decoration Academy. In the period from 2008 to the present, he received additional specialized training and obtained certifications.
John has been married since 1981 to Nancy. They have four sons together. John enjoys reading, movies, and bargain hunting.
